ugly dog
So last night as Brooke and I were preparing to go to bed I was flipping through the channels on TV, you know because it makes so much sense to see what's on right before you go to bed. Anyway, when the remote landed us on Animal Planet we were riveted by what we saw on the screen. For the next hour or so we watched the Sonoma-Marin Fair's annual Ugliest Dog contest.We went back and forth between laughing hysterically and going, "Awwww..." These dogs are so incredibly pitiful and ugly that they are cute. Here's a video of one of the previous years contests:
You can see more images of the ugliest dogs here. The only thing more sickening than the actual images of some of the dogs was the fact that according to this show it's apparently no longer PC to refer to people as dog owners. For example, the dog Archie was there with his "human companion" so and so. Has it really come to this?

kismet! You seen the dog whisperer? i watched the whole first season today. some ugly dog's there, too. i loved it. wow.
That dog is alarming. I am not letting my kids look at this blog. They'd have nightmares! I might have nightmares. Sheesh! Poor little thing.
margie - that's too funny. i've heard of the dog whisperer but i've never watched it. a whole season in one day is pretty impressive.
karen - i think this is the first time you've ever commented on my blog. i feel honored. yes the dog is alarming. i think he looks a bit like the crypt keeper.
